Solid Choice
TLDR: Glasserie is a sweet, laid back mediterranean restaurant in Greenpoint with great value. Enjoy a mezze platter for two at brunch or dinner and catch up with a friend who definitely lives in Greenpoint because really why else are you there?

Some people get their kicks journeying to a top secret little hidden gem of a restaurant. The harder it is to get to the better. Not me. I’m a convenience-play kind of gal. I’m not planning a trip to Queens just to sample soup dumplings (maybe one time, but generally I have better things to do ok?).
Every now and then though I happen to go somewhere like Greenpoint which is annoying as hell to get to, in which case, I am on a mission to try something good. Glasserie fits that bill. Like many of the good spots in Greenpoint, Glasserie has a total neighborhood-y vibe. Its cozy, converted-factory aesthetic is welcoming and there seems like plenty of tables should you decide to walk in. Cute, not fussy.
The value here is high. The portions are generous, so you don’t need to order much to walk away with a full stomach. I went for brunch and got the mezze share platter which consisted of three heaping bowls of dips (labne, hummus, baba ganoush), two fluffy pitas, and some pickled veggies (cabbage, olives, cauliflower). This was probably enough food for 3 people if you threw in a second pita order. Each item was super tasty with a good balance of spices. The pita comes topped in a thick layer of tangy zaatar so be prepared to get spices all over yourself while you attempt to neatly rip the pita apart if you order this. They also had a solid looking drink menu and will serve you THE CUTEST tiny chalice of honey should you order a tea with honey (do it).
It’s a good spot to catch up with a friend while you enjoy food that kinda makes you feel healthy and doesn’t break the bank. So if you, like me, have a friend who insists on living on the least practical subway line (hint: it starts with G), check out Glasserie as a fun brunch or dinner option.
